Well, I'm pretty sure I have no reasonable options aside from calling Ruger, but... My new LCR fires when the cylinder is open, a little or a lot open. I read to check the screw below the cylinder latch release. I tightened that up and it worked for a day or two. Now it's back to its old tricks. Any thing I might be missing before I make the call?

I have heard of this problem before but I have to ask; Why would you squeeze the trigger with the cylinder open? I was not aware this was a safety feature on revolvers until I tried a few of my own guns. If you call Ruger ask for a label to send the gun in. 8)

Your center-pin on the recoil plate is probably stuck back. Does your cylinder release button push all the way in and spring back out? The back of that button should travel in about an 1/8" when depressed.

Well sometimes the cylinder doesn't close completely (even when you think you closed it. Of course the worry is that you pull the trigger on a cartridge that isn't aligned completely. I'm not sure how I first noticed it. But, no, I don't make a habit of pulling the trigger with the cylinder open.

Yes, it does. However the button is pretty stiff and the cylinder closes stiff too. When you pull the trigger with the cylinder open, you can watch the button come back out.

Depending on your state law. As long as your state has no goofy laws you can ship the gun back to Ruger yourself and they can ship it back directly to you. This is the law under the ATF. Again your state may require something else. Call Ruger be polite and explain the situation and ask for a shipping label. They usually will send you a label Via email. Tape it to your shipping box. Call to schedule a pickup or take to a company run shipping counter. Franchise like the UPS store will not take guns.

Now if you are required to ship through a dealer or the gun is replaced a transfer will be required. No troubles there. Let Ruger know the cost and they will cut you a check. They did when they replaced my SR9. I did not even ask they called my FFl and asked him the amount of they transfer and requested a receipt.
