Guess what? The front sight fell off my LC9… I should have known what was coming since my group was stringing to the left before I realized what was happening. A quick call to Ruger Customer Service set things straight. I was on and off the phone with Ruger in 5 minutes and a new (refurbished?) slide is on the way w/ a return mailer for the old slide once I'm sure the new slide fits and functions.

My replacement slide was waiting for me when I got home Monday afternoon, only 5 days from when I made the call to Customer Service. Other than the tiny roll pin securing the front sight to the frame the fit and finish are spot on with the original slide. After installing it I went to the local indoor range and put 35 rounds of Winchester White Box and Federal JHP through it to make sure everything was correct, which they were. I'll make one more trip to the range before returning the original slide to Ruger in the pre-paid mailer they provided with the replacement slide.

I really enjoy this little pistol. The "melted" design disappears in my pocket w/ Blackhawk #04 Ambi Pocket Holster. It fits my hand well and points naturally, being a long time DA revolver shooter the DA trigger pull of the LC9 is no problem for me.

The magazine that came with the gun was stamped "Made in Italy" while the spare magazines I bought from MidwayUSA are stamped "Made in USA". Both the Italian and USA magazines function flawlessly with Winchester FMJ and Remington JHP standard pressure 9mm.

Looking forward to reloading for it once my backordered Hornady 9mm dies arrive (July?) using Winchester 124gr FMJ bullets with Alliant Power Pistol or Unique powder.
Cheers,

Sorry to hear you had problems with your front site. Sounds like Ruger is going to make things right though. They should be sending you a slide with a pinned front site.

I bought the LC9 with the intent of giving it to my 15yo daughter when she is old enough. For the time being I am taking care of it for her.
