Brand new gun. I disassembled the mag and cleaned it like I do all my mags. Loading the mag, only 6 rounds will go in. I've taken it apart several times and still no difference. The spring is in the right way and the floorplate clicks into place. I called Ruger and they're sending me a new mag with a return envelope for the old one. Hope they forget to put that in there! Any ideas?

I'm surprized they just didn't send you an extra spring, and a new magazine for your trouble.

I'm guessing since it's a new gun, any kind of product that doesnt function correctly they're ging to want back so they can figure out why it wasnt functioning, that way they can remedy any assembly flaws/manufacturer flaws hat they didnt pick up in their testing.

In my experience, a lot of new mags (various gun makes and models) are hard to load to full capacity. I use an UpLula mag loader, and even so, there are times when I literally have to force the last round in....sometimes to the point that I worry about breaking either the mag loader or the mag.

Have you tried loading the mag with six, and leaving it for a week or so...and then try to load the 7th round? Sometimes the new springs are overly stiff, and being compressed a while will let them ease up a bit.

I've seen this problem with new Glock mags. You can break the loader thingie that comes in the box with your Glock before that last round will install.

Load it up & fire it a few times & soon you'll be able to get it loaded to capacity.
