I just added a Ruger LC 380 to my guns. This is a fun gun to shot nothing like my LCP 380 . I see in the manual for the LC380 under parts the magazine for the LC9 and LC380 list the same part number can this be right?

I, like you, really like the LCP. Also, it is my understanding that they use the same mag...they may have a different follower, I am not sure.

LC380 magazine is different than the LC9, the LC380 mag has a spacer inside the back of mag because the 380 round is shorter than the 9 mm and a shorter follower to fit the shorter space. Both mags will work in the LC380, but the LC9 mag is subject to feeding issues if the rounds are not positioned properly in the mag. The LC380 is shipped with the same manual, but there should be a supplement added to show the different parts and any other changes on the 380 model. The Ruger store shows both mags in the pistol accessories section.

Thanks now this makes more since now. I see the spacer now.

If the LC380 had come out before the LCP I might have bought one. But I have a LCP so went with the LC9. If that LC380 shoots as well as its larger brother it much be a real nice shooting pistol. I still can't see a good reason to go with one though, the LCP is a great CCW when maximum concealment is needed but for daily carry I prefer the 9mm a bit more.

Bought the wife an LC380. She enjoys shooting it and so do I. She had a Taurus TCP .380 but it was too snappy for her and hard to operate the slide due to her arthritis.

DDubya, that is exactly why I bought one, wife has R.A. and little hand strength. Got her to try dry firing last night and she can't pull through on the trigger with one finger. Had to use both hands to get past the break point. Since I just got this Sunday, am hoping that it will "limber" up some and she will be able to shoot it.
