Laser/FLashlight on your revolver?

Anyone have a laser, flashlight or both mounted to their revolver?

If so I would love to see pics. I really want to put a laser-light on my S&W 686P. 8)

Carried in an ankle holster of course. I'd recommend using this setup with a Ruger Bearcat though. Better balance.

thats crazy you posted your gun... i have the same but its ported so the enemy is blinded and deafened....

I carry mine IWB in the small of the back.

That model is an extremely cool gun (wish I had one...) but it already has rails.

I want to put a laser light combo on my 686 plus but I'm not sure what I need.

I am far from a revolver expert, the 686 is the only one I own. The only other I had was the LCR with Crimson Trace laser. I really do not like CT, though I know they are well made.

I think weapon mounted lights are good for a team member, not so good for an individual. It telegraphs your position and where your weapon is currently pointing. Laser ? Maybe, just maybe. steve b

All kidding aside, fossils and guns, you will probably have to go with crimson trace for a laser on the 686..and for what its worth, I personally like them. Much easier to train the lady in your life to shoot for Self Defense too..JMHO!!

Yeah on that.
Entry teams are moving about while searching for bad guys. A home owner stays stationary and waits on the bad guys. Two entirely different situations.
It's much better from a tactical standpoint to use a seperate flashlight in your off-hand, hold the light up, slightly forward of and extended to the side your body and use only a light that is equiped with a dead-man switch (so's it's only "on" while the button is depressed). Using a light in that manner will require some dedicated practice. The draw back is that it may cause you to get shot in the hand or arm....but look at it this way....that is a better alterative than getting your head blowed off while holding a lighted gun up eye level, eh?
A bright red dot that telegraphs is a good aiming point for others too. Aint saying they are bad because everything has it's place.....just saying that I'd want mine to have a trigger-actvated switch. That, and I cetrtainly wouldn't try using it to locate an adversary with.

In the end, it aint the do-dads that'll save ya. Having the right mindset and some skills might though.

I would like to see data on actual civilian self-defense shootings, situation, type of gun, and outcome. That would be interesting. From what I know most happen fast at close range and include a lot of missed targets. 8)
