Damn good shooting... just did not like those last two shots...not because he was almost down but because of all the folks a ways down from him, but I doubt there is any way to focus beyond the idiot with the knife at that point.
I did find it kind of silly they they felt a need to cuff a dead man.... but I guess he could have jumped up and attacked them with all those holes in him.

Thought the same thing then realized that it is not the police that make the determination of death. Probably following SOP.

That may be SOP, because the officer shoots to "stop the threat," not to kill.

Watch the video again. He went down once and then got up again.
Just being cautious.

Second part: Think back to the FBI incident in FL in 1986 (IIRC) where the one
guy went limp and the agents shifted their attention to the other guy, where upon
the first one came back to conscious, grabbed a Mini-14, and proceeded to kill
multiple agents. - - - Being cautious has merits.

Although I support LEO, her abilities may get her into trouble due to the distance the perp was from her when she started shooting, another 5-10 feet and there would be NO argument but that she had to stop the threat.

I personally have no issues with this shooting, clearly she had repeatedly told him to drop the knife while he kept closing the gap, unfortunately in these current times and it being LA...she may find herself in some trouble...very sad that our Police officers lives are not valued as they should be nor are Police officers respected for what they do for us every single day.

I believe he was a lot closer than it appeared from the camera view. She was backing up and it looked to me like he was about 2 car lengths in front of her. It seems to me she handled it pretty well.

The average time for the 20 yd. dash is 2.6 seconds. I'm pretty sure he wasn't that far away. That's a short time to close the gap, and an even shorter time for a shoot/don't shoot decision. I'd want her on my side too.

The family of the recipiant of her "attention" claim the only reason she shot him is because she's a competitive shooter. No, that's not the reason she shot him but it is the reason she landed all six shots on target.
