I came across an unusual Super Blackhawk. Has original box, all factory paperwork and appears to be completely original. EXCEPT the barrel has no factory roll mark. Do these ever escape the factory without a roll mark? It is a KS45N, SN range
87-677xx.

Yes Dave the factory does let a few get out. I have a couple standard autos that the roll marks are upside down. I also have a Super Blackhawk with no roll mark on the barrel. Serial number 82-56060. As far as a premium? Don't really think it would.

Is it new enough to be one of those with the rollmarks on the bottom" near the ejector housing? those are so easy to remove the warning and any markings on the bottom side, we have seen some brand new Rugers with NO rollmarking except for the bottom "warning".....as you note it is a stainless gun, and won't be the first , NOR the last with any and all "markings" removed from the barrel, we see more and more with a simple "caliber " marking , ala Colt.......... yep, we like it way better with the "warning" on the barrel bottom, now its about a 15 minute job..... 8)

Where it's stainless, circa 2006, has me thinking the rollmark/ lawyer warning was removed.

This was a talked about quite a bit back then.

I removed it on my 41 bisley Acusport about this same time.

flatgate would say when it bothered him he would just turn the gun over. :D

Thanks for all the opinions. The owner thinks it is still a factory screw up and believes that it should command a premium price. I suggested otherwise..... we agreed to disagree.

Yeah...gotta find somebody to want to pay that premium price.
There was a period in SA manufacture about after the new management got in place at Ruger that there were quite a few SA's getting out without the barrel rollmark.
The chances of it being polished out are very slim I.M.O. Much more likely to occur as factory error, and I'm sure there are many times more factory "non-rollmarks" out there.
