I bought a large knife from a guy that goes by the name of Tusk buster. Made a nice knife and I wanted a saddle knife. Something to hang on the saddle for camp chores and what not. I needed a saddle sheath for it and was at our local gun show and met up with a custom knife maker named John Dulovich of Schuyler Lake, NY that I had purchased a knife from a few years back. got to talking to him about making me a sheath and he said he would be glad to. I sent him the knife and a few pics of how I wanted it built to put on the saddle and what came back was perfect.

I had it made so I can remove it from the brass ring using what he called I think a John Brown snap (?). Lower down on the sheath there is a leather loop that holds it close to the flank strap.

Not only does he make a great sheath. He makes one heck of a knife too. I bought this one and used it exclusively for skinning beaver, and the fit and finish was great. where The brass cap and stag met, you could not feel a gap. the pic is after skinning about a dozen beaver.

That is some nice leatherwork and a beautiful knife!

They are. A real solid using working knife. Well made and something that you want to use. I give both knife makers two thumbs up!!!

Thanks. My wife was making fun of the knife and sheath....."good thing you got that.....never know what you might run into" I just smiled and said your right. She calls it my boy scout stuff. My GPS goes in the old cell phone carrier right in front of my leg.

That has to be the most comfortable saddle I have owned or ridden in. Best investment I ever made.
