No. Amazing how much more a Yonkers-made gun with that first-year Oregon stamp will bring to collectors. I wish it they had shipped this one there to rollmark it :lol: As I understand, there was actually one Kimber 1911 built in Clack. I want that one!

IIRC, the factory trigger (replaced with a Wilson), the hammer ( I think it was a Wilson Deluxe Commander), the sights (replaced with Novaks) and the mainspring (replaced with a Nighthawk) were all replaced. I put the bag of factory parts in the Kimber case and that was where it stayed until about 4-5 years ago. I got the bag out and listed it on here and got rid of the factory parts since I obviously wasn't ever going to use them, and they were in new condition. I do not remember buying a new GR assembly, nor do I recall one being in the bag of parts I sold. To be honest, the GI vs. FLGR argument has never affected me either way, so I really don't think I would have wanted that particular modification. I think that is the OE guide rod assembly. IF it isn't, then the gunsmith made that mod without my knowledge, and he kept the other parts.

I've owned several early Kimber Classic Customs/Classic Stainless pistols. All had full length guide rods.
My experience with these early guns is that they shoot extremely well out of the box. Kimber was putting their best foot forward in these early years. My current as-built Classic Stainless held its own against every other higher end 1911 I've owned, some of which cost 4 or 5 times what I paid for the Kimber in 2000.
