Keurig-Type Coffee Makers

Mrs. Rugerhound & I have Keurig and we like it just fine. We pay between 40-50 cents per K-Cup. (Order on line in bulk with free shipping!) I have a single cup maker also that I use in the morning...

My favorite is the Tully's French Roast...It is just fabulous! (And works REAL well with a jigger of Carolann's Irish Creame! ;)

Keurigs are a tad labor intensive... We have to descale every few months, and we have to clean the thing frequently (include cleaning the K-Cup holder) or we end up with grounds in the coffee.

Probably have to put it in mothballs when I retire, but for the time being I use it a couple times a day.

Is that the "Mexican" variety? A number of my Mexican clients never brew their coffee: they always use instant. Nescafe is the favorite brand, and I think it's packaged south of the border. What they use has Spanish labels, and it's certainly not the same stuff we get in the supermarket on this side. It's actually pretty good especially for instant--might even fool a couple of people in that old TV commercial, too!

Well, It DOES have instructions in BOTH Mexican and English, BUT then Nescafe is located in GLENDALE,CA and they tend to be Bi-lingual out there as I recall.

Somehow Glendale doesn't sound quite right. There is a Nestlé corporate office there--might be the city's second most famous label, wedged between Disney and the Kardashians :oops: --but I think the stuff my guys like had something like part of this on the label:

Nestlé Servicios, S.A. de C.V.

However, it's true Glendale IS bi-lingual! English and Armenian...

I know ya get whatcha pay for, but I took a cheaper route. Bought the Hamilton Beach product for fifty bucks.

And the fifty-buck model lasted three days. It's already broken and going back for a refund. :roll: Too bad, 'cause I liked it really well.

So now a dilemma...Do I spend $140 for a Keurig or Dulce Gusto, and is it gonna last longer than three days?

WELL, AT LEAST the Sodas from Mexico have REAL SUGAR in them and not all the other garbage substitutes like "Corn Syrup". :roll: :roll: :roll:

I just use the Melita single-cup cone. Place the cone over the cup, add the filter and ground coffee (3 tablespoons for my mug) and boil water. Takes a little more time than a K-cup, but no throwing away coffee and I can try different brands if I want. Cheaper too.

Kinda a do-it-yourself Keurig. Makes sense to me and you don't have another appliance on your counter. :D :D
