This stub end of an Old Model Super Black hawk barrel is up for grabs. I have felt welcomed here on this forum, and have bought and sold plenty here, so its time to give back. I noted several guys looking for Old Model front sights lately, and this little barrel has an original one still attached.

Where is the rest of the barrel you ask? Well it was chopped and installed on an OM 357 that I am converting to 44 special, I will be using some sort of semi patridge sight on it so I do not need this sight. The barrel came off a 4-digit Super that will be getting a 5.5" octagon barrel and #5 gripframe soon as the 7-8 projects in front of it are done. See the picture with its original frame, a guy could thread this stub and make a lil sheriffs model.

I would like it to go to a needing recipient, and not someone that will leave it in a parts bin collecting dust as I have for nearly a year now, the lucky new owner will be picked sometime Sunday! Please comment below to 'enter'.

Here is the thread over at Lee's page with more pics of the 44 Special project

I pulled this up just before 6:30 when I walked the dogs. Get back and I'm too late! But Cellar701 is a fine recipient. I have been considering a Sheriffs model on the new mid frame 44 spl FT. Didn't want to sacrifice the original barrel. Something else will come along.

Some years ago, I got what I was told, was an old model FT 44 Mag barrel that had been cut to 5 1/2" which I cut to 4 5/8" and converted an old model mid frame 357 to 44 Spl. The next year, Ruger came out with the Lipsey's NM FT in 44 Spl, go figure!!

That's OK I like both of them. When I showed my OM conversion to the barrel donor, he gave me the 1" he had cut off the barrel, a 6 1/2". And showed me the OM 44 Mag it came off of, but it wasn't an OM FT 44M it was an OM SBH that had the 6 1/2" barrel! Then I clued him in to how rare those 6 1/2" barreled SBHs are! I got the classic "Oh ----" response....
