Just received the latest RENE

I received the latest RENE today. Nice articles. And Thanks.

One article I'm gonna bloviate about, the Ruger GunTalk American Gen 2 Ranch Scout Rifle (a mouthfull) was mentioned under new releases. I am highly interested in one and would buy one immediately if this was available thru dealers other than just GunBroker. GunBroker just has a meltdown when I try to buy it. Heads Up, distributors! Have Ruger make a batch for you and sell them thru normal retail channels. I'll buy one.(y)

pic1083,, if you really want to get the best updated info on Rugers,, join the RENE.
Do as Doc4429 says.
And if you get the RENE Reference Guide,, it's PRICELESS if you collect the older stuff. Some years back,, they published a "pocket sized" reference guide. (I think they are sold out now.) I use mine when I go to gun shows. In fact a few weeks ago, at a gun show,, a guy had what he described as a "Flattop .22 mag only" gun. I POLITELY had a discussion with him, and he was thankful I did. When he asked if I might know when it was built,, I pulled out the pocket guide,, and showed him the listing in the book. he got a bit of a free education, AND was happy.
While the pocket guide isn't available anymore,, the full sized version is,, and it has allowed me to help folks here a lot when they have questions.

In short,, the RENE is the best thing going if you have a serious interest in Rugers!

I hope my copy of the RENE arrives today!

Fantastic article about the Maxi's. Those who want to reconfigure any of the Maximums they own need to read this article. But they own the guns so they can do with them what they want. I would say, sell the Maxi to someone who really wants one and then use that money to buy/build the gun of their dreams.

I also like the "missed" auctions, lots of nice guns went pretty low, some people got some great buys.

I too enjoy the "missed" auction notes. Makes me chuckle & cry at the same time!
But,, if we know what we are buying,, and the seller doesn't,, we call it a great deal.
Kinda like what happened to me some months back. At a gun show,, a nice older Single-Six,, sitting on a table,, with stags. At $550 it left with me. And yes,, the stags were factory!

Yes, it did and another fine job Chad and great info from 'Coogs',,wish I could have added to that story from my talks years ago with the gunsmith ( local to the factory who got the job of cutting up so many of those factory "faux pas" he also did the bad brass frames from our talks way back..... out east, at Harrisburg Ruger show,,,recall seeing the pictures of the trays with all the "spare"??? 357 maximum cylinders, and them being sold here and there....hhhmmm interesting stuff ,,,thanks again(y)(y)
