Jonas and the Bigfoot

This is the story about about an autistic boy (not what they were called back then) and a big foot. Ran across this looking at other things. Told as a true story, I have my doubts but it's certainly an interesting story. Took place over 50 years ago, I'd guess. Well worth the listen especially if you know about such as this, or one that just seems to get along with animals better than most. It's about 18minutes and well worth the time if it catches your imagination.

Quite the coincidence here. Miss Penny has watched a few videos of late on Sasquatch sightings, and this very interesting story played for our contemplation last night on Youtube through our tv! Thanks for posting. True or not, it illustrates a point. Innocence can be a blessing at times. Don.
my nickname at Potter-Brumfield back in the 90s was "Sasquatch". I didn't shave my head back then though...

In 1964 I worked at Willow Creek California, it is known as the "Bigfoot" capital of the world. My job was as a foreman treating the poles on the transmission line that went straight through the "Trinity Alps" mountain range there. The guys I hired were locals from the area. There was a lot of talk about whether Bigfoot was real or not. Like on most subjects the people were about 50/50 on each side of the issue. One morning far off the road I blew a clutch following the power line trail. I sent my guys off on foot to walk out and get a wrecker. I was sitting with the truck by myself for another five hours or so until the wrecker showed up. Those first hand stories did go through my mind. Years later I had a friend that was president of a Bigfoot club out of Palmdale Ca. He did claim to believe the stories. I went to a meeting or two and others there also believed. I cant say I did or do, but I wouldn't bet my soul or house on it either.

When I was a kid the carnivals had something with fur in a freezerthey claimed was an abominable snowman. I read books etc. I have seen videos. Beyond that, I have watched a TV show about hunting them that was totally bogus. The videos seem real, plus in my area there is the legend of the”Hairy Man”. There are calls I have heard in the night, that are neither coyote, owl, or human. Things disappear, like apples, Fanny packs etc.

This guy has a series that he tells other peoples stories of Bigfoot that are quite interesting. He does a good job telling a story. His videos can be found under: Pac West Bigfoot If you want some stories for your kids around the campfire these are great stories. They will certainly keep the kids awake for a while. :mrgreen:

Back in the mid Sixties, I was living in Yreka, CA and on a desire to see some new country I did the drive from Happy Camp to Willow Creek. After Happy Camp the road was dirt and it took me about six hours to get to Willow Creek. At that time it was some of the most remote country in the lower 48 and did make for great Big Foot country since the "res" was the only real game in town.
