Prayers he recovers fully. He's the nicest guy in the car hobby.
I was at his shop about a month ago dropping off some parts. He was off taping "You Bet Your Life".

Serious burns are about as painful a condition as a human being can suffer. I was the Administrator of the Army's Burn Center at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX back in the late 1980's. Some of the people we treated, and often saved, were beyond most people's ability to even imagine the damage. I became even more careful around anything that could possibly involve unexpected fire like adding gas to an already hot lawn mower or the like. Fire is nothing to take lightly.

I've seen the aftermath of an oilfield fire and it is not pleasant. When the flames can be seen for 50 miles you know you've got a horrendous fire. During safety meetings , it is often mentioned where the nearest hospital is and what directions are to it. Most of the time, due to the distances involved GPS coordinates are usually kept at the muster point.

That's terrible news about Jay. We try to make an annual car show at a big LA park about 20 minutes from his hangar where the cars are stored. Dunno if the bikes are there, or elsewhere. Anyway, the man's 's an incredibly approachable guy and I wish him a rapid and complete recovery. I've know a handful of folks who've been thru bad burns and words don't describe them. Prayers come for you, Jay.

The article says hes' at Grossman Burn Center. They're one of the best in the country. Prayers come for you, Jay.

My buddy lives out there and sent me a pic of him with Jay at a car/ bike show. As nice and down to earth as can be he said.

Just watched an interview with George from his garage (he's been on some of the videos and has worked for Jay for 15 years) and he said it was a steam car that used gasoline to heat the water that spit gas out and it ignited. Eye and ear are ok but part of his face on one side is seriously burned. Said Jay was in great spirits.

My kid got to meet Jay in his garage in 2019. I think in this pic he's showing my kid some kind of steam car. Kid says JL is as nice a guy as you'll ever meet. Prayers up for his speedy recovery.

I saw him in Las Vegas a long, long time ago, doing stand up comedy. He is very funny. I believe all the people saying he is a great guy in person too. He would have to be given his personality on tv. Hope he recovers fast.
