It's July!

Hi,

And time to remember a couple of things we do each year:

First, to Ruffbird and all our friends above the 49th, Happy Canada Day! I hope you guys can really enjoy some "normal" celebrations after such a rough last year or so.

Then, on the 3rd, quite a few of us will remember our old friend, Jim Blair, known here as "Piper." You're certainly missed, Pipes, but hardly forgotten!

And, of course, the 4th of July, Independence Day, here in the States. A lot of people think of this day simply as a great day to BBQ and watch fireworks shows, which it is, but deeper than that, especially with the condition the country's in with its divisions and problems, we need to look back to that day in 1776 when our Founding Fathers gave us the "Mission Statement" that defined so much of what we were, and still are, trying to build in this country. Far too many people think it's a done deal, not realizing that we must work every day to achieve what they envisioned.

So while you're enjoying the BBQs and all, please take a moment or two to remember something about this month that makes it special for you! Happy July!

Don't fail to realize that the reason we can celebrate this was one document delivered to a despot King and another document a little later that allows this celebration....freely.

Huh, I got married on July 1st 38 years ago thinking because of the date of the birth of this country being so close I would never forget. Well, guess what. :mrgreen: I should have gotten married on the 4th, because that's usually when I remember my anniversary. Wifey now reminds me every year, which helps a lot. :mrgreen:

My late wife and were married on July 3, 1968. Our daughter was born on July 3 1969. Never had a problem remembering the day.

My sister Maureen was born on the 9th and died from cancer in 2000 at 57. She was a nurse in the Army from 67-71. She was working at Holy Cross Hospital in 72 when George Wallace was shot in Laurel,MD and assisted on the team.

Neil set foot on the moon.

moms birthday was 3 july. 93! God gave her to me for another season. im blessed.
