Itching to try out my new trigger

Last week I bought myself a BX trigger for my favorite 10/22. The stock trigger I replaced has seen a LOT of use, and for a stock 10/22 trigger, it's really not too bad. Still, I found a sale, and decided I'd try the BX. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get to the range for a few days, and I'm getting anxious to see if the BX trigger makes a difference.

I realize there are quite a few excellent third party options available for a 10/22. Most are expensive, though. I paid $220 for the gun brand new in 2012. I don't want to spend that much, or more, for a trigger.

So, we shall see about the Ruger BX...

Agreed. I did get to the range today. Unfortunately I forgot to check my ammo supply in the range bag, and only brought 40 rounds with me. Still, that was enough to confirm that the BX trigger makes a noticeable difference. As you state, it doesn't make the rifle capable of more than it was before. A better trigger DOES, however, help make the trigger "disappear." Shooting with the new trigger today, I was able to concentrate more on my sight picture without having to worry that i was going to pull the sights off target when I released the trigger.

While there are certainly better trigger upgrades out there, for the price I paid the BX is easily a good deal.

I was more than a little apprehensive about buying one, as the reviews I have seen have been very mixed. Quite a few people have posted threads on forums trashing the BX.

On the other hand, Ruger DID come up with clever packaging for the BX trigger that allows you to try out your trigger in the store before buying it. I have tried a few in stores since they came out, and I always thought they seemed pretty good. No, they're not the same as a Kidd or a Volquartsen. But they don't cost $260 either.

I put a BX Trigger in my 10/22 and it's fantastic! I'm glad to hear you're super happy with yours as well.

I just bought one for my nephew and I'm excited to give it to him for his birthday in three days. I think he'll run right to his dad's work room to install it before he even opens any other presents!
