A while back, I sold the 416 Taylor that I had put together, dumb move! I've been looking at the Hawkeyes. Seems that they are all the, whatever they call their dark colored sort of rough powder coat blue. It's on my 308 and I don't care for it. I really like the deep blue on the old tangers. I've seen 9.3 Africans with the deep blue. Did or does Ruger make a model of the 375 with real bluing?
Thanks

The current version of the Hawkeye African has the bluing you want. It's model # 37186 on their website. The earlier versions of the African had the matte blue finish, which you'll want to avoid. What it has now they call satin blue. It might not be as deep as the old tang safety originals, but I think it looks pretty good. A lot better than the matte blue, in my opinion, though I know some folks prefer the matte look.

Thanks, I look at them.
I should have said that my 308 is blued on the outside, it's down inside in places like the feed ramp that are coated with the rougher finish.

Black Fly, check out the thread about unusual M77's at Davidson's. When last I looked, they had several different blued M77's in 375 Ruger. some with express sights with a barrel mounted swivel. One may be what you seek. Bob!! :)
