In spite of the rain yesterday, I had a fairly good day. I finally met Mario Andretti and got to shake his hand. :D I almost got run over by Tony Kanaan on his little scooter in the pits. And I got reacquainted with some people in the motorhome park of the track and was told that I could come back and party with them for the weekend. :D A couple of things that stuck out yesterday for me. Not only are teams using different engine packages but new for this year, they have different aero packages. If you're a NHRA fan, you know that one of the reasons that sport is so successful is because most of the drivers are very friendly to the fans. After spending way too much time in the pits yesterday because of the rain, I've observed that it seems like they don't really care that much to meet and greet the fans.
Now it's time to head out to the track again and see if anything exciting happens today.

If you happen to run across Rick Mears, tell him "Hi" from Pete who worked with Don Hatz Racing back in the dark ages! ;) Used to know the Mears family many many years ago when Roger was doing off road! Congrats on meeting Mario! Wow...

It was fun,saw Sam Hornish go by on a scooter, went into the garage where a lot of testing/tuning was happening and the race action was great...220+ mph, number 1 and 2 battling on the 1.5 mile for the last 20 or so laps...knid of nerve wracking wondering if the tires were going to touch.
