Today we honor family, friends and all those who have given their lives to "support and the defend the Constitution of The United States". Like many of us their sacrifice hits close to home:

My Uncle Paul, US Army Signal Corps, KIA October 4, 1918 by a German sniper.
My Cousin Eddy, US Army 1st Cavalry Division, MIA Battle of The Pusan Perimeter August 16, 1950.

I think of these guys and all the others more often than just one day a year and what they could have been and what they gave up to give us the liberty we too often take for granted.

Rest in Peace and we will not dishonor your sacrifice.

Hi,

Thanks for the reminder, Ron. I plan to head out to Riverside National Cemetery here this afternoon after the crowds thin out to "visit" with some friends there. I guess I've been fortunate in that I don't know anyone in the family or among my friends who served and didn't come home. For any of you here who also have friends at RNC whose names I don't know, I'll say a silent "Hi!" for you, too.

Rick C
