Hi WESHOOT2,
It does a lot of things for progressive style reloading presses. The first is that is watches the users actions on the press to make sure the press is operated in the correct sequence properly. On a manual indexing press like a Dillon 550, this means it ensures that that the user pulls the handle all the way down, returns it all the way up, and rotates the shellplate properly. If the user forgets to rotate the shellplate because they got distracted or something, it can easily cause a double charge on the 550 press, but the Press Monitor will report this error and go into alert mode beeping and flashing the press light. For automatic indexing presses it watches to make sure the press handle goes all the way down and and the way up. This will catch short stroking the press if the user doesn't pull the handle all the way down, possibly leading to a light powder charge, etc.
The monitoring is just one feature, it also:
Has a complete array of statistics including Round Count, Time you have been loading, Rounds Per Hour (both current speed and overall), a Remaining Round Counter (if you specify how many you want to load), Remaining Time (how long until you are done).
Provides a press light that is focused on the bullet seating station so the user can see that about the correct amount of powder is present.
Has a few other features that can keep track of the powder in your measure, tell you when press maintenance is due (by hours or round count), reminders to let you know certain events have occurred (you can set it to give you a quick reminder every 100 rounds, when powder is low, when you are completed, if you are going to fast, etc).
It is 100% designed and built here in the USA by myself. I designed it to be the best it can be and it has a dual power system with battery backup to keep it running even if wall power goes out in the middle of a session and a on board power supply that converts 7.5-20VDC efficiently.
The best way to check it out is to watch the two videos I have on my website where I show the monitoring and statistics features:

Have a great day,
