If you like a nice antelope you
should love this one early in July. Dr.C

Have to admit I love the antelope around here. I drive about two miles to do my target shooting on BLM land. They are so curious they come see what you are doing. The shooting noise does not seem to bother them at all. Definitely curious animals.
After living for so long in Alaska I still call the antelope caribou half the time I see them.

That's a nice one.

Street and T.A. I really have a thing about the Pronghorn antelope and am blessed by living and having access to where they thrive. I love to see them and try to photograph them [and I have killed my share of the big ones as well]. The camera is a Canon 5D and the lens is the Canon 400L. I really appreciate people looking and the kind comments. Dr.C

The Canon 5D is a great camera. I have about the same thing in a Nikon D700. Both are great cameras. Is your lens a F5.6 or F2.8. I have a 70-200 f2.8 VR. Sure would like to have a 400mm to go with it. Like to say again, great picture.

Street: It is the f5.6 version, I'd love to have the 2.8 but find the 5.6 quite adequate and did not have to mortgage the house. However w/ the 2.8 the use of teleconverters is a viable option. Dr.C

doccash,

I know what you mean about the difference in price from the F2.8 to the F5.6. About 95% of the time the F5.6 will work just fine, and the difference in price for the other 5% is not worth it. Now if you were making a living taking pictures and you shot a lot of low light subjects then it would be worth it maybe. Looking at the shot that you made, the optics are just as good as the F2.8, maybe a little better. The difference in price is just for the speed. Again, great shot!!!!!
