I was having coffee with a friend of mine recently, and he passed what to me was a very high compliment.

During our conversation, he said, "Bob, you see everything in black and white. You don't change your mind. You don't waver back and forth."

Somehow, that seemed to be a compliment.

Maybe....
Maybe he's real polite....
It's kind of the same as saying you're a pig headed SOB who's
blind to subtleties and won't admit it when you're wrong.
I'm sure he meant it as a compliment.

I've been accused of being "too black and white"..........I always thank the observer.

Ayn Rand answered those who accused her of seeing everything in black and white by saying:
"You're darn right I do !"

Bobs a christian.
There is this in the bible about this subject:
"So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth."

Its either right or wrong!

yup - Bob lives in TN, and Southerners often go so far out of their way to be polite you have to be very perceptive to figure out what they REALLY mean.

For example, if he preceded it with something like "Bless Your Heart Bob, you see everything in black and white. You don't change your mind. You don't waver back and forth", then you could definitely count that as a slam. :)
