Ideas for 8 or 7 shot .357 revolver

I am trying to pick a larger revolver that carries more rounds. I would like one that takes moon clips. What are my options for this?

S&W M686+ (7 rounds) in a variety of barrel lengths. Adaptable to moonclips at extra cost.

S&W M627 (8 rounds) in a variety of barrel lengths and finishes. Some come moonclip ready from the factory. Here's my 5" M627PC:

The 686+ is an L-frame (corrected!), and the 627 is an N-frame. Good luck in your search.

Taurus makes a 7-shot GP100 size revolver in the Tracker line and an 8-shot in the 608. I have a Tracker in .357 and another 5-shot in .44 mag. I am very happy with both of them. Both also have ported barrels that make follow up shots very quick.

I don't believe the 686+ is an N frame, its an L frame.

I shoot with a few guys that use the 627PC and its an excellent gun, and runs like a clock. We trade wins back and forth over my tuned up GP100 v. their 627s. I've never shot the Taurus versions, but I wouldn't own another Taurus anyway.

If you can afford a S&W look for one of those. If that is a little out of your budget then the only thing Ruger offers in seven rounds is the GP100 in 327 Federal Magnum. Although they do offer an eight shot Blackhawk in the same caliber. You would have to have the GP100 modified for moon clips and may not be able to find clips for the 327. Obviously the Blackhawk won't accept moon clips.
