Thanks you guys, especially all you old timers. Often you don't get the respect you deserve. Many don't understand that wisdom comes with time, there's no getting around that. I've been smith'n on 1911's and AR's since the 80's. A while back I handled a NM blackhawk at my local pawn shop, and fell in love.

Now that I'm older, it is no longer about dumping a 30 round mag into a 100 yd. small bore target as fast as I can. It's no longer about trying to put 8 rounds out of a 1911 into a silhoutte target at 21 ft. or trying to blast some tannerite with an AK.

I've realized that reloading your own ammo can be a relaxing activity, the wife knows where I am, rock and roll has been replaced by classical music, and shiny brass fresh out of the tumbler has replaced my need for fast cars and motorcycles. And my German Shepherd lies at my side ever so happy.

I read about Grip Frames, and the interchangeable parts that Mr. Ruger had engineered. I was intrigued. I studied, searched, and asked questions...and I got answers! Everyone has been polite, honest, and spot on. Now at the range, I'm not in a hurry like I used to be. Shooting a single-action revolver, that you modified yourself, with ammo that you loaded yourself, is bliss. Awesome information you all have provided.

I installed a hunter grip frame, a SBH hammer, and some walnut grips. I learned that William Rugers design is as genius as Samuel Colt, John Moses Browning, and Eugene Stoner's Firearms. My "NEW" NM blackhawk fits my hand perfectly, shoots sweet, and has taught me a new discipline. I've realized it's not how many rounds you put down range, but how often you get down-range.

Thanks again Gentlemen. A couple of pics if they load.

Well, you are quite correct in how this place is. It is one of the many reasons I'm still very active here. We do help others. We do not tolerate bad attitudes. We expect others to be polite & respectful. While we do not always achieve all this,, in general, we do manage it.
After all,,, we appreciate Rugers,,, and want others to enjoy them as well. If you can't learn the correct stuff here,,, where else can you go?

Now,,, I didn't bother trying to open your pics,, as photobucket isn't computer friendly to me anymore. But,,, I can assure you,,, I can easily imagine what yours looks like. The main thing,,, is that YOU are happy with it.
So, hang around,, learn as much as you can,, and then,, realize,, there is still a lot to learn! :D

It is always good to be part of a forum that is able to help others not as seasoned to the subjects offered on the forum of choice. This has been one of the best. Like Contender said, who has much to offer I must say, very little misinformation gets passed without being noticed on this forum. Plus on this forum even with over 40 years experience with this manufacturers fine products, I can still find solid new information when I need it here, and I think all us old timers can agree to that, no matter how seasoned you are this one place you can come and learn even from some that are not relics themselves yet!

Welcome to the forum, and I did look at the first pic, good job, but I suggest trying Postimage for your photo posting needs, it is much faster and more friendly,, plus it's free. I wish Photbucket would have made their changes earlier, even a computer dummy like me can use Postimage easier and faster. You have a fine start on your Ruger sickness,, GL!
