I have a Rock Island Armory full size 1911 in .45acp right now for to shoot my reloads and just for homedefense. Nothing really special.
I am a big sucker for a nice Ruger P-series in 9mm and .45acp.
Right now i have a guy that will trade me even a like new in the box Ruger P-94 in 9mm that is all blued.
I am on the fence as I like them both. I reload ammo in both calibers too so that makes it even harder to choose. I already have a P94 in stainless and another 1911 so I wont be losing anything if I pick one way or the other.
Anyone here have anything negative on the 94 in 9mm ?
This is a hard decision as they no longer make the P94 .

For me the blue guns don't do much. I'm a stainless guy. If it was a black model though!! I would pick it up today.

I think you have more value in the 1911 then the 94. 1911 is worth about 400. 94 is worth about 300. My opinion.

You can always get another 1911 though. The 94 is probably getting hard to find.

I would stay with the 1911. Ruger no longer supports the P series pistols-1911 parts are everywhere.

I am a P94 P-series in general fan. I just purchased another one a few weeks ago. Bought a pair of P-series magazines advertised on the forum here. I would do it myself. But what do I know.

P94s are no longer manufactured. You won't find parts for it. All mechanical things fail (at different levels) eventually. You won't find P94 parts anywhere.

1911s are STILL manufactured. Parts are WIDELY available. You will always be able to replace a failed part and repair your 1911.

Beretta 92s, Glocks, and Sigs are the same way.

I would only Trade my 1911 for another weapon that is in wide service use and has widely available parts and service life.

That is not a black gun but blued. The all black guns would have a black barrel, trigger, hammer, etc. Typically Police only. Also an extra "P" on the paperwork. I have a PP90DC.

Looks pretty clean and turning "plum". Enjoy it.
