I decided to pick up a Sub 2000 last weekend.

Between the price and $100 rebate and another Will work for Guns and Ammo project . I put a few hundred rounds through it and really like how small it packs down to.
My only negative is the sights are about 1/4" too low for comfortable use but I can fix that wether I make something or get the M Carbo.
I did add a little hi viz paint to the sights and opened the aperture a little. A piece of Archery Felt on the tube took care of the cheek on cold metal issue. I also beveled the latch so it will release without manually releasing the latch but still stays closed. I've decided a QD mounted red dot will be the way to go and ordered those this morning. I'll probably fab a sling mount and call it good

The Mcarbo sights are not cheap - with your skills, you should be able to make something better than Mcarbo in short order, with about $1.50 worth of materials!

I had mine at the RF meet. I wish I'd have known you were interested.

The original rear sight is way too low. The MCARBO sight is infinitely better. I have the notch, and if you tighten it just right it will flip up like the original. To me a peep is too slow for fast shooting, but to each his own.

I put thousands of happy rounds through it until it got traded in 2010. Then, as luck would have it (I thought) a nice, slightly used, Beretta Storm CX4 came along. Turned out that the old, cheap, Kel-Tec was much more accurate, even after mounting an ATN optic on top. I wish I'd kept that old S2K

If you do decide to buy one of the Mcarbo sights, be aware that their notch sight is not intended to be used like a similar pistol sight (with the top of the front sight level with the top of the ears on the notch). They apparently view it more as an open-top aperture, with the front sight post centered in that big rectangular opening. You probably could use it like a traditional pistol sight, but you might need a front post (AR type) taller than anything I've ever seen. If I had it to do over again, I would get their round aperture rather than the notch.

As always FWIW, IMHO, YMMV, etc.

The 200rnds I put through it were about 4-6" low at 25yds but reasonably well centered. Rapid fire at 25yds was about an 8"group. Perfectly adequate for what it is. Once I notch the sight and get the Red Dot I'll wring it out on the bench with a half dozen different loads.

Yes! And what a fun gun. It’s amazingly light and compact. I don’t think it jammed at all while we were shooting it, correct?

I ordered a nice looking tactical pack from Sportsman's Guide years ago for a stupid low price. When I got it it's scaled for a 3 year old. The Sub 2000 fits perfectly in the largest compartment. I'll probably keep it and the Dagger together in it with a handful of mags. I have an old pass around pistol scope I can put on it for giggles as well with a QD mount. My other 9mm Carbine is solid to 150-200yards with the scope. These could be the perfect grab and go combination???

So I picked up a S&W M&P FPC, which is pretty much like the KelTec but folds sidewise so you dont have to remove any red dot or scope. Cost about $70 more but well worth it as the S&W is a much better build.

The design of the S&W avoids some of the issues associated with the KT - but IIRC the Smith is only available in 9mm, and only uses M&P mags. That's fine for many folks, but I had a bunch of 40 cal Glock mags I was planning to use in a Ruger .40 PCC (now discontinued by Ruger), so a .40 Sub2K made more sense for me personally. (Plus I got a great deal on it!)

When I lived in Houston I carried a Glock 23 most of the time and always had a G22 in the truck. I bought the KT in 40 and it fit perfectly in my center console. Slick little set up but I agree on the fact that with an optic you are screwed on folding it up. Really didn’t bother me because it still fit in the console with a red dot on it. Nice having a PCC along for a ride in the jungle

I would add white lines on each side where you want it to line up. Maybe take a Dremel with a cutting wheel to make notches to hold the paint.

I'm ordering lever throw QD mounts for the red dot and pistol scope. I will keep the red dot on the bottom rail while folded. It'll only take a few seconds to swap after unfolding.

That's a great idea - keeps it attached to the rifle (so it doesn't 'wander off'), but out of the way for folding. The RDS I bought came with a QD mount, so I'll give that a try!

I live 10 minutes from MCarbo. I bought the MSeries which Kel-Tec installs all the MCarbo aftermarket internal and external parts except a couple of items-muzzle brake, butt pad, and ? called the Operators Package which I added. This is a great PCC. I have a Glock 19 so I bought the smaller grip for the 15 rd Glock mag and larger. The downside is the MSeries is expensive, but it is exactly what I wanted in a PCC. Shoots one holes at 25 yds off a bench with a dot. My AR, Sub2000 and G19 are my Zombie arsenal. My other guns are for "fun" and edc.

The Daggers get great reviews overall (I like mine ;^), and PSA claims they are Glock gen3 compatible, but they have a few issues for folks who are not staying with 9mm. Apparently PSA only tested the frames with 9mm; FWIW, I believe some other "name brand" auto pistols have had frame-cracking problems when the factory reissued/converted an existing 9mm model to .40/.357, so that lack of testing adds a big question mark. One writeup on another forum pointed out that Glock 23 factory slides won't even fit on a Dagger frame without binding, unless you replace or modify the Dagger trigger bar (so much for "gen3 compatibility"!). And if you read the fine print, the PSA lifetime warranty is void if there are any aftermarket (non-PSA) parts installed, or any PSA parts have been modified.

So, they're a great option if you want a 9mm, but they are definitely not "gen3 compatible" in the same way that Glocks & some other Glock clones are.

Having a 40 makes the KelTec worthwhile, however I have no 40 ammo, so it would be expensive for me to get one. However the KelTec 40 is cheaper than the 9mm.
