I can't stop shooting my new P345

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been to range every day this week since I got this new gun and have put over 600 rounds through since Monday with only one FTF that I now believe was user error. Today the gun got real hot, so I decided to take a 5 minute break. Then I got back to shooting, after making 8 head shots in a row onto my target an older dude came up to me and said " Man I'd hate to get into an argument with you" After that I could not stop laughing. This is so much fun and is a huge stress reliever. I am just a newbe at this and have been target shooting only for about a year now. The old guy with his comment did make me feel good but I know in reality Im just an average shooter. Funny now after making a bad shot in most instances I can actually tell what I did wrong and then try to make the necessary adjustments so it does not happen again, this seems comes much easier as I get more experience. I think an intermediate or advanced shooting lesson is in order here. by the way I'm old too - 51.

51 isn't that old compared to some of the folks around this forum!

I'm glad you're enjoying the pistol... and yeah, classes are a GREAT way to sharpen your skills and fix problems that you probably don't even know you have.

If you haven't... or haven't in a long time... you might even want to take a beginner's pistol course too! I've seen many long-time, very experienced shooters improve at beginner's courses.

customf1. Hey fellow, your just a kid yet. I'm 81 and have been shooting
for 76 years and still shooting.

Nah, you're not old. I'm 69 and still shooting. I also really enjoy shooting my P345. I've owned several different .45ACPs over the years but like this one best of all. Dare I say it, I like it even better than my old Colt 1911 Government. Light recoil, accurate, excellent ergonomics and sights that work well for these old eyes and totally reliable after firing about 500 rounds. What more could anyone ask for. I think Ruger really hit it right wit this one. Their new design recoil spring and cam really soak up the felt recoil. Great pistol and good looking too.

I'm 60, been at it for a couple of years, and I agree- great stress reliever. When the job and the honey-do's get to me I grab a range bag and leave. An hour of paper-puching does it for me.

You see, on RF, you even get to hang out with the 'young' crowd of people like me (a spry 21 years old).

i think the cutoff between the 'highly wise' crowd and 'young whippersnapper' crowd around here is like 56
