I used to have a 1100 series holster for a Single-Six that went with it on a trade. Really liked being able to snap the holster on/off. Now have a NM FT BH, and a Sheriifs Vaq.. Both are the smaller frame, in 44spec.. Looked at their charts and made a phone call some months ago, no one there seems to have even heard that Ruger is making a mid-sized frame SA.. Sooo, do I take a risk and order a regular(larger) BH size, or maybe go with a Colt SA sized holster ? Opinions, guesses ? steve b

I'll play. I'd get the Colt SAA model. I'll just mention, though, that if your holster does not cover the rear sight on that Flattop, it can open up your forearm when you're carrying it. I did THIS to protect myself and the sight.

Thanks Larry ! We'll see how others feel on the subject. Don't want to have to go the custom route yet. steve b

You can always do what we did as kids-cut the front of the holster with two slits (about 1" apart).

If you go that route, go with the Blackhawk holster and cut it.
