Howdah Pistol!

Howdas are absolutely cool. This is a .410 gauge; The first ones I saw (online) were black powder 12 gauge. And there are four barrel. And they are all real money. But very vry cool.

Many years ago, a gunsmith in Garfield, NJ had a similar gun for "unwanted" patrons. All it was, was a cut-down 12ga. with the stock cut off and re-contoured. Even today, you could custom-make one today for $100 IMO..... IF your state allowed them :-))).

Howda, the hindu name for the basket on top of a transportation elephant. Indian Tigers would often attack these trying to pull out a passenger for a meal.

Howda pistols began being made, 2 barrels better than one in the tradition of English double rifless, for the drivers or guards of the Howda to repel man eating Tigers. Chambered in several choices, one popular lion repeler was a .577 Snyder. A 450-480 grain bullet at ~ 1300fps.

A real prize to get to observe an original.

Ithaca Auto and Burglar was a Howdy MoFo instead of a Howdah. The Gun Control Act of 1934 got rid of it
