IT WORKS!!!! I have a Master combo lock that I used at the police academy and I'd forgotten the combination to it . Using this method I had it open in three tries .
Now I just have to remember to write it down before I forget it again .

I have a Master that I know the combination to and and I tried his way. There is NO "first locked position" from 0 -11. The first locked position is 16. Now what does one do?
