How many of you own a Super Blackhawk with square trigger guard?

Good thought but back then he didn't fret about serial numbers and he ditched his NY carry license with the sn recorded on it. I could ask the NY state police for it but I don't think they would give it to me.

That makes it easy. Buy one that looks like his and enjoy that it might actually be it. After a while you will start to believe it really is his. Lol.

Oh heck. I would give it a try. It would be amazing if they could give you any help to track it down. Fingers 🤞

My 1993 vintage Bisley… the Bisley GF really helps tame recoil.
I agree on the Bisley grip frame (gf), not only because the recoil dynamics are better, I can get the pinkie of my right hand fully on the grip. I cannot abide any gf that doesn't support my hand fully and any Ruger I buy gets a Bisley or Super Blackhawk Dragoon style grip frame.

And this is why I always tell people; "Find the grip shape that fits YOUR hands,, to heck with what I use!" Everybody has a different feel when they grip a handgun. You find what works for YOU!

And cary is correct,, but I did say most,, not all! :D But ALL of the OM Supers did have the dragoon style.

I showed my pair of OM’s earlier in the thread. I do have a NM that was born as a Bisley. In keeping with Contender’s assertion that you should run what works for you, I submit my unfinished Bisley grip upgrade. I figured since it’s a NM there’s no desecration or blasphemy involved LOL.

It’s a RW Gripframes BFG-L. Currently not a catalogued offering. I might start fitting it later today…

I have also found that the Super Blackhawk Hunter grip frame is very comfortable. I straighten the front strap somewhat - Bisley style.
