How Many Gun --- Books do You Own?

I ask because we all know we should keep learning, and we all know we should be able to discuss gun rights and the shooting sports with intelligence and facts.

So excepting magazines, loading manuals, Brownell's catalogs, and the like, how many books on "gun laws", firearms history, firearms freedoms, carry-legal issues surrounding firearms, etc do you own?

What is the best, or the one you reach for when you need some sharpening?

From where I am sitting I can see:
3 - Kuhnhausen "manuals"
3 - from Ayoob
8 - Assorted authors/gun-subjects

Hardly any. :roll:

P.S. One titled "Effective Handgun Defense" (just got it) that is a book
on gun history and a BUNCH of pictures, from a guy that admits he
has never been in a gun fight. Read that as . . not . . recommended
because content has nothing to do with the title. :roll:

OOPS! For mechanical . . . Kuhnhausen, self defense fundamentals . . .
Ayoob, then others as there is need (Gabe Suarez has good info.).

I have over a hundred in my library. Books by Skeeter, Elmer, Taffin, Ayoob, Jordan, Dougan, are just a few. Lots of technical ones, as well as specialized ones.

didn't the NRA have a "book a month" club? (might have been through Double Gun Journal)

It was a long time ago, but I was a member for a long time and actually read every one recieved. they were mainly the classics with authors Contender listed. at one time, it was two full size book cases. Unfortunately they are currently boxed up and in the barn. Have had thoughts about getting them out and putting up for sale

Not very many, a few coffee table books and the Florida Firearms Law Use & Ownership guide I got when I got my CCW. I usually read online. That legal stuff is very boring. I rather get my information from the various gun owner news sources and the posting here on the forum. I think unless you are buying the latest book every month you probably are not getting the latest news about what is happening.

Well, I used to have an entire 5 shelf book shelf filled to the rim with gun books, and every American Rifleman going back to 1971. I had to trim it down when I got re-married cause we just didn't have the room for them all. Trimmed it down to about 30. Got all I could keep on ruger, all the RL Wilson books, and a few others.

If it's the "those who do", here's a short list of mine:

I also have access to, but do not own, 'Blacks Law Dictionary'.

- Just a weekend query on how many gun-law books (in my head, typed something else) folks here own. It dawned on me I have hundreds of "gun books" (about thirty linear feet of bookshelf) but only a dozen or so specific to laws affecting gun ownership/use in my state.
