Well, with all the Stay At Home orders and the ranges all being closed I decided to make a pair of holsters.

The one on the left is my newest. I've improved my stitching but my dying isn't as good. Something to work on.

Fortunately I bought a side of leather so I have lots to practice on.

Next, basket weaving.

My gun club is open, but I have yet to go during this pandemic because I know it will be at least moderately crowded. Normally I prefer to go during the work week when I am often the only person at the range, which is how I like it. But passing the time here has been a bit challenging for me. I don't have any hobbies, and I've never been what one would call "handy", so once I got the few household projects out of the way that I had been putting off, I pretty much had just open time. When the weather is good I fill time with taking my dog for a nice long walk of about an hour, and whenever I can I get out for a motorcycle ride. But I also spend a lot of time (probably too much) sitting here on the PC surfing the Internet. I regularly visit about a half dozen forums, and going to Youtube can take you away from real life for hours on end. Then there's TV and watching DVD's of movies that I can enjoy watching more than once.

I know its probably not the best thing to do during this pandemic, but every few days my youngest son comes over with his two little boys (ages 3 and 5). They live in an apartment with no real outside space to play in, while I have plenty of space for them to run around. I get a real kick out of having the little guys around, even though it is probably putting me at more risk that I should be allowing.

Maybe I'll start a blog and begin sharing my wisdom with the masses, but I'm not sure anyone is interested. I already share a great deal of my advice on Facebook and have been unfriended by more people than I expected, including a few of my own grown kids that can't tolerate my Conservative viewpoint.

I read a lot but am almost out of books and the libraries are closed throughout the County. I work a lot of Sudoku puzzles and have a bunch of books on them. If the weather ever breaks I have plenty of yard work awaiting. I also have been getting things ready to turn out a holster. Nothing fancy, just functional. Then there is always my guitars.

I was able to buy 2,000 pieces of pick-up/washed-clean 9mm brass before the "lockdown" and it only took me a week to deprime/size, prime, and expand the cases. It's ready to load now so when I get bored, I can work on that.
We still have a couple of feet of snow here which is slowly melting so no outside chores yet. I've continued to volunteer at the Food Bank working to keep food on the shelves. There have been lots of families coming for the first time. We're disinfecting carts/shelves, keeping 6ft distance, and wearing masks.
I have faith that we'll get through this, I just pray it will be sooner rather than later.

Doing services and detailing on my motorcycles; it's no small task. I usually hate doing it, but I've got time to take the time. The results are satisfying!

Binge watching on Direct TV (Amazon Prime when the wife isn't on the PC; working at home!); leather work, gardening/home farming; re-learning to walk after a second broken knee; reading and re-reading books.

About a hundred years ago I tried my hand at holster making. Made a few pretty good ones, too. But trashed quite a few in the beginning, though. And, I did do dome basket weave designs.

Working out, walking,running, playing guitar, riding horses, odd jobs around the place. Really haven't been too bored. FoxMike, most libraries have e-libraries they attached to if you don't mind reading on a computer.

I bought my wife a kindle a few years back and she hasn’t been to the library since. I still prefer books and got 3 before they closed down. Unfortunately I’ve only started one so they may get me through this. Besides working we’ve been watching our granddaughter some. A nearly full time job even if it’s only a few days a week.

I am now up to date on my reloading. All of my firearms are now cleaned, waxed, and lubed. I use my tablet to download library books. My yard has had its' spring cleanup, has been fertilized, and the weeds burned. The trees are all trimmed.

I am now starting to clean and repaint the inside of my house. Flooring work, which I hate, may be next but cleaning and waxing my cars will probably come first.

YouTube does slow down my progress.

This is a great time to shorten the honey do list.

I'm building some new portable target stands and some new firearms. Built the 9mm AR pistol and now working on two 10/22's. Since I'm an FFL with a business, here in PA I am allowed to be open for business so I am getting both guns people bought off the internet and some gunsmithing and Cerakoting jobs. One job is interesting, refurbishing a Daisy Model 25 BB gun.

I hadn't thought about it as most of the refurb is the firing mechanism but I can since I will try to make it look as nice as possible before returning it.

Reading, gardening, clearing out the garage (yeah, right). A little reloading, some time at the range. I sorted through the archery equipment I've picked up over the years, including arrows and components. Using a fletching jig I acquired last year, I put together a few sets of matching arrows, so I can get in a little archery practice.

Still working, dealing with the bank and SBA about getting a Cares Act paycheck protection
loan. We'll qualify and it will let me keep employees working....maybe,
for those who want to work. Since the Feds kicked in an extra $600 per week
of unemployment plus the $365 they can get in state benefits a few are wanting to
stay home and be lazy, sad thing is I can't really fault them for that attitude.
Dealing with the installation of a new business computer system and trying not
to kill anybody because of it.
Still sneaking into the ice rink a few times a week ( not really I have a key ) for
a late night workout. Running after work on the other evenings just trying
to stay sane.
Hard exercise helps my mood.
Just do it again every day......Ground Hog Day!

During my off time wondering whether I would be allowed to return to work I hit the reloading bench for about 1500 rounds of rifle and pistol ammo, planted a garden, picked up a super Blackhawk 44 mag 1977 vintage. Traveled up to Pickens Al to bring home our hunting cabin. That was a fun day due to the heavy rains of the past few months the wheels on the cabin had settled into the ground a few inches. When I attempted to pull it out that morning I couldn’t move it and bogged my truck and the cabin both. After hours of digging out wheels and a wrecker later I managed to get it out andback home late that night.

The Company I work for finally allowed crew change on its vessels to go forward and I made it back to work on the 8th after a Temperature check before leaving the home office. I happy to still be working but after 42 yrs in the industry and low oil prices I see another standstill in coming in the Gulf of Mexico due to the Saudi’s’ and Russia getting into a pissing contest again along with the China pandemic shutting the world almost down. The active drillship count that had just picked up in the gulf from the 2015 BS that the Saudi’s Russia and Obama did to us now is now slowing and possibly grinding to a halt again. I counted three more drillships on anchor in the Loop anchorage off of Port Fourchon for a total of 5 not working. The large Jack up drill rigs that were stacked in 2015 have never went back to work there is a virtual island of them SW of Port Fourchon.
With a crew of 14 onboard including myself so far our contract is ok but I’m seeing supply vessels being laid off again. At the moment I’m 110 miles off the coast of Louisiana offloading supplies to a Production platform.
