Today, the State of New York did one of the most despicable acts ever perpetrated by any state by asking New York banks, financial institutions and insurance companies to stop doing business with the gun and ammo industry.

While it may not make a difference to New York, Hornady will not knowingly allow our ammunition to be sold to the State of NY or any NY agencies. Their actions are a blatant and disgusting abuse of office and we won’t be associated with a government that acts like that. They should be ashamed.

-Steve Hornady, president of Hornady Manufacturing Company

Follow suit Federal and Winchester.

They should all stop selling to abusive government agencies.... ATF, police, etc. Disarm them. Perfect.

Shouldn't the banks refuse to deal with the alcohol and tobacco businesses because of the serious health problems their products cause ?

Good on Hornady, just reinforces my use of their products! ps

Hornady also just landed a $35million contract with the FBI, for 135grn +P Critical Duty ammo. My personal favorite 9mm. :)

I wonder what people would think if another right guaranteed by the bill of rights say freedom of speech or religion had New York asked banks not to fund a certain religion or newspaper?

I have discussed similar actions with several in the industry for years. When Barrett refused to accept any Ca. rifles in for repairs etc after the state stopped allowing private citizens to own 50 cals, I used them as an example.
I have asked the companies to not sell to any cities or states that restrict private sales,,, but write in exemptions: "Except for Law Enforcement & Military."
I have been told;
"It's business,,, and if we refuse to sell to them,,, other companies will step in & get the business."

My reply to that is; "Well,, if the NSSF got on board,,, and all the major companies got together & put up a unified front & all of them refused the LEO's of any state, city etc that refused to allow the freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution to the citizens,, it would work."

Divide & conquer.

They want to divide us,,, and if they succeed, they will win. But if all the companies stepped up, and did the same thing,,, laws would get changed,,, QUICKLY!!!!!!!! When the politicians find out that LEO's that protect them can not get firearms or ammo,,, or they have to jump through the same stupid hoops as any normal citizen,,, then they will make changes.

KUDOS TO HORNADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be writing a letter to Hornady myself,,, thanking them for standing tall.

I will probably get slammed for this, but I will say it anyway sine I have believed it for decades. I am old enough to remember when it was the gun owners who caved to the Democrat anti gun agendas.

Millions of gun owners, including most on this site, support a double standard. Hornady, and a few other businesses, take action to resist violations of the Constitution by governments, while most gun owners, without a whimper, go along and support massive government Constitutional violations.

I am old enough to remember when it was millions of gun owners who meekly agreed to the Democrat Agenda of anti gun piecemeal legislations, and still support thousands of governments' Infringements on the Right of the People to Keep and Bear Arms.

Yes, it was, and still is, the millions of gun owners who advocated and still support Background Checks, Concealed carry Permits, gun limits, magazine size, gun free school zones, gun size, gun transport between locations, etc., etc., etc., all Constitution violations. Many complain when their own butt is bitten, but still support the government abuses.

Had gun owners taken a firm stand from the beginning to not permit defiling of the Constitution, commercial companies like Hornaday would not have to make such a decision. Even now if even 10 percent of all gun owners (estimate 30 million) take a stand and refuse to obey the unconstitutional agendas, unconstitutional enforcement would be impossible.

It is nice to complement Hornady that takes a stand while millions of gun owners meekly only privately complain while they are unwilling to admit they are not willing to individually and collectively take a risky stand against tyranny.

Read THIS (from NY Times) and weep..... NYC mayor proposes the trend in allowing illegal use of drugs... they call this 'pioneer'ing..... God help us!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mayor Bill de Blasio is championing a plan that would make New York City a pioneer in creating supervised injection sites for illegal drug users, part of a novel but contentious strategy to combat the epidemic of fatal overdoses caused by the use of heroin and other opioids.

Safe injection sites have been considered successful in cities in Canada and Europe, but do not yet exist in the United States. Leaders in San Francisco, Philadelphia and Seattle have declared their intention to create supervised sites, although none have yet done so because of daunting obstacles. Among them: The sites would seem to violate federal law.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And they want to take (LEGAL) guns and ammo away.....

Looks like the law makers have something to say about banks & guns.

Congrats Will, you win the prize. That right there is one of the best post on the subject that I've read lately (or perhaps, ever). About all that is missing is that you forgot to include the Republican party and the NRA, both of which have also been (and remain) "parties to the crime" so to speak.

DGW...who is also "old enough to remember".
