HiViz sight on Ruger LCR

I was hoping someone could help me out here.

I just installed the HiViz green sight on my Ruger LCR and install was a breeze. The issue i'm having is aiming. Before this sight I was hitting 25ft targets dead on using the standard sight. After this sight was installed, i couldn't hit anything.

I believe I'm aiming wrong w/ this sight and would like to know the proper way to aim at a short (10-15ft) and long (15-25ft) range.

From what I understand the way to aim on the XS Dot sight is
Short: Dot on target
Long: Target above Dot

Does anyone know, or can give advice on how to properly aim w/ the Hiviz sight?

After installing my HiViz on my LCR, I did not notice much difference in point of aim from the original sights. I usually shoot to 7 yards out, aiming with the green dot on the target while centered within the gap of the rear sight.

Can you tell at all if you're hitting high or low?

How does it shoot for you??? That's the important thing. What Ruger put in the manual for the XS sight does not appear to work for me. Unfortunately I'm still trying to nail down the right sight picture at different distances and am thinking about going back to the stock front sight and just adding paint to it. That way the sight picture should be the same post/notch that I've used for years, rather than round front square rear.
