I decided to try my little 10 22 international with the factory iron sights. I have a Leupold 2x7 compact scope in QD mounts and have one problem. The gun shoots very high unless the rear notch is lowered way down, so I have trouble seeing the notch, the top of the QD mount is literally at the bottom of the rear sight notch. I would like to raise the notch to or almost to the top of the folding blade, and needed a higher front sight blade, one that matches the factory profile so as to lower the point of impact about 4 inches.

And the question is???

I got distracted and did not phrase he question, although I may have found the answer. I was wanting to inquire as to how much additional height I might need on a front blade, and where to find one. I did run across some Ruger factory blades, one was listed for a 10 22 magnum or 77 22 , which one reviewer said was taller and accomplished what I need. Got one on order and will see next week when it arrives.

They also make a couple higher rear sights as well. I usually put them on my scoped 10-22s so I can see the sights over the scope bases if I ever need to take the scope off while at the range or in the field.

Williams sells a front sight "booster" with their peep sight kit. I'd check them out, as you can use the receiver-mounted peep sight and the high front sight with a scope base in place. I have their peep setup on a couple of 10/22 guns and find it superior to the factory blade type.
