My favorite 9mm powder (WSF) has been unavailable for about a year and a half, well not anymore. I just picked up two 4#'ers of it and I am quite happy about that.

Now we all hate you... ;)

Oh come on, I know you guys love me.

WSF is available, I saw it in a Cabela's in Gonzales, LA the other day, 1# bottles, about 3 or 4 of them. New label on those, very subdued. I know at least one ammo maker uses a lot of what is sold as WSF to us for some defense shotgun ammo and a bunch of their defense handgun ammo, I'm sure they had first dibs on it when that line got up and running again (fire, I heard). I am happy, it's a really good powder for handguns and a lot of shotgunners use it for competitive clays.

Well , in the powder pinch my stash of CLAYS was dwindling down so I looked other places . One local shop catored to the sporting clay shooters & he had a bunch of Alliant`s 20/28, I said Hhmmm. Sits rite above unique on the burn chart!

Did some digging/research & found some shooters had already been using it in handgun applications & it flowed well in measures & as I suspected acted like unique. So I pulled the trigger on a #8 jug & used unique`s data -5%.
Burns a lot cleaner than unique, definitely measures better (flakes are closer to WW231 size) & as expected I`ve ran into no surprises over the chrony. I run 20/28 in 380,40, 45,38spc.,357 ,but yet to try it in any 44 loads . Oh yeah, it works good in 20ga. also !

I think when my CLAYS is finally gone I`m gonna look at Alliants PROMO, as it`s one notch up on the burn chart.
& I always REDDOT powder on hand for clean burnin bunny poot loads

My local had 2 #8 jugs the last time I was there , but sporting clay season is in full swing round here , I mite have snoozed too long .

My go to for 9mm. Was able to pick up a 8lb last time in town.

It's a very nice handgun powder, especially for semi-auto rounds. Many find it the equal to Viht N330, even though WSF is a DB powder. Nice large loading windows with it and very linear in load increases.
