Found in a popular shooting spot several cartridge cases I have never seen before and I'm curious. These are almost exactly the same as .30 carbine but about 1/4 in. longer and are what I would call "semi-rimmed" and maybe a very little bit more taper than the .30 carbine. The case head is stamped "38" on one side and "76" on the other. No other identifying marks. Must be some sort of foreign military round? Any idea what they might be? Sorry I don't have access to a camera right now. Gerry

mattsbox99, Thank you, I believe you hit the nail right on the head. I had never heard of this cartridge before let alone seen one. Interesting, I'd like to see the firearm it came from but have no idea who dropped the fired cases. The fired case is exactly 38 mm in length and, though the crimp is blown out the faint crimp line is still visable. Thanks again for solving the puzzle! gerry
