Heart Problems Solved !!

I have been having serious heart problems for the last several months..
Six weeks ago I had an angioplasty which found two blockages......however, as they were less than 50% they left them as is. Said they were not bad enough to effect my blood flow...especially at (73) years old.
Crap....Had high hopes of that fixing the problems...NOT
Finally last Monday I had a heart Ablation, where they burn the "Short Circuiting" nerves to correct the AFIB problems...
That went very well, and immediately I could breath better, and my pulse dropped from a constant ~157 down to ~40-50 overnight...
Still had some other electrical problems showing up, so Tuesday they installed a pacemaker...
Quite an experience, as both times I was awake during them....rather interesting.....
But....came home yesterday and am feeling like a total new man !! :)
Hard to believe.. I can walk from my truck to the house and not be out of breath, or have my chest hurt ......
Unfortunately, along with some other limitations, I cannot shoot a firearm for three months.... :( Oh well...such is life.
Sorry to ramble on, but so happy I just had to share..
PS. had all the work done at the University of Wisconsin Hospital.....one awesome place..

Very glad your issues are resolved. Can't shoot long guns for three months, lucky you. My doc says at least six after they split the sternum, and then start with light stuff.

Certainly a 9 1/2 " single six loaded with standard velocity .22 lr would be an exception to " no firearms" wouldn't it? Anyway, glad to hear you're on the mend.

Good for you, and good job by your medical staff. Hope you keep mending and improving.

I was diagnosed with A Fib in 2005 and have been under a cardiologist care ever since. My A Fib is under control via daily meds (at 74 years of age), but ablation may be in my future. All I do now is follow a great diet, get lots of gym time (it's free), and tell lots of lies about how good I shoot at my age <<GGG>>.

Mine just said no long guns. But I started with a little .22 mag NAA. I've graduated to a 5.5" Single Six. Truthfully, I may be here for a while.

My spouse found out that the Two front arteries are blocked and the main one in the back had a significant amount of blockage too; The good news was that the Body had routed some "auxiliary" arteries around to the front where the front blockages were located. They DID install a pacemaker too which is apparently good for 7-10 years.

I had my pacemaker removed 2 days ago...my electrician cardio removed all the wires, and put new leads in for something called a CRTD....which is supposed to be the solution to my heart issues....sore as all get out, but feeling pretty good....so far!!

It is good that you doing good.

I had a minor heart attack back in 1981 when I was 40, had a quadruple bypass then but plugged them up and had to go through it again 7 years later. In 2001 had a stint put in and in 2010 and 2011 had two more stints added to the same artery. Nowadays I know when I overdo the activity real quick and a nitro is my best friend. At 77 I think I lead a fairly normal life.

Jeez ! I feel for ya - after my 5-bypass cardiothoracic surgery (split sternum, et al) on Labor Day, my cardiologist only said I couldn't shoot anything heavier than a .22LR for 90 days (which will be "up" Dec 7th).

(I'll be 75 next week)
