Hat bands

This is an old thread, but wanted to contribute anyways!
Made these myself; wanted to spruce up a few hats with something different than store bought hatbands!
Refurbished old belts and silver buckles found on ebay for some of them. Last one I just did last week.

I've made hat bands out of women's leather belts. I've braided them out of rawhide. I've braided them out of paracord.

I would expect it to be impossible to find a genuine Stetson hat band.

Appreciate all the comments and suggestions. However, I stated previously, he wants a Stetson specific hat band. It'll have Stetson on a little tag off of where it's attached to the hat. Wants to try to restore the hat to make it as original as possible.

I'd tell him that real hat guys don't wear factory hat bands with a possible exception of a gray felt Fedora with a grosgrain band.

Lost my Stetson in the divorce many many years ago...my EX Brother in Law always liked it and it ended up across country with him since he helped the EX wife with the covert move when I was at work....along with my favorite hat band made from a Rattler I harvested, skinned, ate, dried, oiled and rolled into the band....12 segments.

Now, this is me but I would avoid rattlesnake skin hat bands. Bad karma. Why tempt the fates?

That is unless you are Bo Didley and wear "a Cobra snake for necktie, live in shack made of rattlesnake hide with a chimney on top made from human skull..." If you remember the song.

Best place I know if for horsehair bands is the Montana State prison made ones. You can Google them .
