Those poor jurors had to look at a nude photo of him. That would be a forever haunting image.

This guy is vile and I wish him only the worst in the future (remember not long ago when he vowed to make a movie that would make the NRA wish that they had never existed?). But that said, the case against him seems very, very weak. I just have a hard time taking women seriously that claim rape after years of adoration for their claimed rapist. Reminds me of the old joke about the prostitute that goes to deposit her "earnings" in the bank and is told that the $100 bill is counterfeit, so she screams "rape"!
This is a tough issue. If anyone, male or female, were to go to the police and report a holdup/robbery that allegedly took place a loooong time ago, and there were no witnesses nor any other evidence, it would very likely not be successfully prosecuted. I am no lawyer, but that's how I'd expect it to play out. Sad, perhaps, but true.
In the case of rape, the personal suffering of the alleged victim cannot help but come into play as a prosecutor considers the alternatives. But again, without witnesses or other evidence it should be tough to make a case against the alleged rapist. Sad, but true.
In a case like Weinstein's the "fact" of multiple alleged victims certainly would play on a jury's emotions, and that alone could encourage a prosecutor to pursue a case. But all it would take to defeat the case would be one sympathetic juror with the guts to say "no witness, no evidence, not guilty!"
The fact that it's likely he did assault one or more ladies isn't proof that he actually did. Tough case. JMHO

Rape is a serious, violent crime. In my 40 years as LEO I have investigated over 4 dozen rape cases. Nine of them were fraudulent in that the accusers made up a false rape charge for various personal reasons.
While I was still on active military duty as an OSI S/Sgt agent with the Military Police on Fairchild AirForce Base, in 1953, the first rape case I ever was assigned to investigate was a false charge. The "victim" claimed rape by an Airforce enlisted man who had been living with the victim for a few months, paying rent on her apartment and other expenses. Investigation revealed that the Rape Complaint resulted as a result of the enlisted man had not returned back to see her for two weeks and he had failed to pay the rent when it was due. My investigation revealed that he had perfect defense. The Airman was in the Base Stockade for 60 days sentence and had been in the Stockade for a month on the date accused of Rape.
