Happy Day!

Just heard the story about the Mexican magician. He claimed he would disappear on the count of three.

"Uno," he counted, "dos" and poof! He disappeared without a tres.

*sigh* muy malo Brother Wright.

Back to OP, I neither celebrate or expect others to celebrate June 12th and by that figure I'm under no obligation to celebrate May 5th. Equality is a two way street after all.

I aint Mexican and it aint a American holiday so it means nothing to me, they don't celebrate the 4th of July in Mexico do they. :?

Exactly! Why are we celebrating a foreign holiday here in the u.s.? I was reading of students being sent home on this "holiday" for wearing an American Flag shirt, they were told it is offending the Mexican students!!

Because we have Mexican Americans here as well a other nationalities. It is also not their, the Mexicans, Independence Day, though many uninformed seem to believe that it is. No different than celebrating St Patrick's Day, or St Valentine Day, or Yom Kippur. Might want to read about it before making unfounded statements. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinco_de_Mayo

Sure they do. It comes after the third of July.
Seriously, how many Americans have moved to Mexico.
Just another reason to drink for most Americans I believe.

Tell you what if they are still allegiant to Mexico and want to celebrate Mexican holidays then they are not American's and they can go back to Mexico where they belong anyway if they don't want to become American.

So tired do foreigners coming to our country that don't want to blend in and become one of us trying to shove their culture down our throats while rejecting and refusing to accept our culture in our country.

Interesting, but flawed, logic, 6gun. Christmas isn't an American holiday, either. Nor is Easter.

Who gives a flying frick who celebrates Cinco de Mayo or Yom Kippur or any other day? One can partake or not. Who fricking cares?

Every day of life should be a celebration, regardless of nationality, ethnicity, religion, country of origin or general beliefs.

Seems some folks aren't happy unless they're unhappy. Or bitter...

We are down here and it is 7.45pm Wednesday evening 15 hours ahead of Dallas... not a word of May 5th here. Kind of sad. Holidays like that are fun regardless of where you or someone else may be from. America celebrates many non American holidays...Christmas has been mentioned. What about March 17? These holidays are fun. They make the day just a little bit different...

Here in Australia, they celebrate this day called Anzac Day. Something to do with WWI and the first day of battle. It's April 25, and as I understand, some people, choose to protest on this day. Not sure why at all...

I don't think anybody here even knew about cinco de mayo until that Cheech and Chong bit. Pretty funny bit actually. I also agree it is just another reason to drink and eat too much. Most people including myself don't know or care what the holiday is actually about, but I have had a few Corona's and Dos Eqis, in the past to celebrate. No different than a nice green draft on St. Patty's day.

Well you and the PC crowd would see it that way, and it is delusional to see another country's celebrating their independence day on our soil the same as Christmas or Easter, at the rate the illegals are flood over the border and people like you welcoming them with open arms to celebrate all their holidays with them they will soon have another independence for when they took over America, your buddy obumer is already trying to hand the country over to them on a silver platter.

and I guess you also agree with kids being told they can't wear a American flag tee shirts to school cause it might offend someone, and your ok with foreign flags flying on our soil, cause you don't fricken care long as it don't affect you.

What you going to celebrate next Ramadan?, that must be like Easter and Christmas to you also.
