A Happy Father's Day to all the dads both living and passed. Wish my dad could have lived to see his grandkids. Starting early yesterday morning until late night we did a big father's day here for both sides of the family, mine and my husband's coming by. Me and my brother are the Cajuns living in Texas and my mom's side is Mexican and they all go nuts for Cajun grub since they can get Mexican and Tex-Mex anywhere in the state so we had a fusion mix: Mexican cornbread and rice with gumbo and a boil with all the goodies: crawdad, andouille, potatoes and corn and most everything else in the mix. :)

Like so many,, I reflected upon my own Dad a lot yesterday. Many may feel closer to their mother,, but it was my Dad that I truly looked up to, and learned so much from.
He was tough, but I never doubted his love.

And yesterday,, my son's,, both called to chat a good bit. One of my DIL's sent me a wonderful card,, and just those simple things made it a good day for me.
Being blessed, and knowing it,, well, it's all I needed.

Also blessed with the most memorable weekend in Va Beach with my wife and daughters. Saturday we went to the beach for a couple hours, then to a brewery where I was shocked by my twin brother and his whole family joining us (our kids planned it and didn’t tell either of us so we were both shocked) then went to a rooftop bar for the sunset… unfortunately it was raining but we still had a great time. Then I was treated to lobster rolls for lunch yesterday and showered with gifts. Truly blessed and definitely one Father’s Day I’ll never forget.
