Even a blind pig makes good ham!

GunBroker has had a number of Colt New Frontiers of late. But for the last two or three, I've struck out. I submit my maximum bid, and watch as the bids soar over my maximum. On one, my maximum bid did not even meet the reserve price.

But recently a New Frontier came up, used, about 98% finish, wrong grips (The black plastic/hard rubber for the Single Action Army) and I bid my usual maximum bid. Well, ah was surprised that my bid was the first. Shortly afterwards there was a bid $25 over starting bid, and mine jumped up the bid increase amount, but still about $100 under my maximum. And it stayed there and stayed there until BINGO! I had the winning bid. So now I'm mailing off my check and my 'smith's FFL this morning.

Oh yeah: .45 Colt, 7 1/2" blued/case hardened.

Congratulations! Hope it is as nice as advertised and shoots straight. Sounds like a good candidate for some Grashorn stags.

And yes - pics.

Congratulations Bob!
Every time I bid it's the same thing, it goes way over what I would expect, then I'll see something that I like at the moment and place a low bid, an hour later wonder why I even wanted it, and that's the thing I'll win the bid on. Now I've learned not to bid "just because". And wait a cooling off period to think about it first--- works some of the times--- LOL
