I hope this is the right place to add this post. I found a really good web sight for items that can free up self space in your gun safe. It is called Gun Storage Solutions. You can just google- store more guns and the sight will come up. I am sure some of you already know about this. I ordered 8 under the shelf hand gun holders. These things really work well.

Wow, very clever and simple idea. When I see things like this I automatically go into, "how can I make that myself and possibly better" mode. Get the right gauge wire, use my shelf as the template and start bending. Their prices do seem reasonable though. Thanks for the post.

Some nice ideas there, too bad our local laws only allow to store exact number of guns in a safe of certain safety category - no matter how many would actualy fit in there.
In my safe I made a pistol rack on the shelf, using a metal hanger that came with some set of spice grinders. You know, one of those simple, cheap hangers made of welded wire, all chrome-lined and such. Lied the thing flat (the hanging pins upwards), cut away some unneeded parts, taped some insulation foam on the pins to create soft, snug gun holders, wrapped the remaining wire parts with self-metling rubber tape and - done!

Sounds like some weird laws over there. I'm counting my blessings, and I don't even live in a gun friendly state.

I like your signature line, but I'd trust John Browning over all others. The man was a genius. Also Sam Colt. There was an old slogan for Colt firearms company. "God created man, but Sam Colt made them equals"

We tend to forget the men behind the guns, now it is all just big corporations.

It doesn't really bother me much...once I get my own place or house, I'll invest, buy a safe door and build a gun vault room inside. Such room can hold any number of guns. As for the small safes - it's just law. It's not like someone actualy forced you to do so...
John Browning - yes, he certainly created many interesting guns and laid the concept of modern firearms, but still...there are other designs I like more. My swedish Husqvarna M/07 is actualy a vintage Browning 1903 clone. I like it a lot as a collection piece, yet won't carry it.
And just for a little quiz: everyone knows the three famous men in my signature...now, without googling: who knows what gun had J. Čermák designed? (he actualy co-worked on more, but there's one which is just his child)
