and he also brought us a complete "package" brand spanking NEW ........

SDA 384 L 380 rimmed (or .38 S&W) and all the paper work.........

of course got a few (3) OM Single Sixes and a BN-41 in the case, so all in all a very GOOD show, BUT still missed the HGS...oh well

You didn't do all that badly right where you were! ;) Some of us not only missed HGS, but everything else to boot!

Good stuff... Congratulations!

Very nice. I am often on the lookout for MK Is like that one, though I have not yet had the cash...

Remind me, was the 380 rimmed exported for the Indian police? If so are there import marks or foreign proof marks?

Thanks,

captainkirk

Yes, just a lot of "custom" work, plus the "parts" on a Ruger to improve it as a target gun, no it is NOT "U.S. " marked, then it would be double the price, but often you will find armorer built up guns that the service folks shot in competition over the years, used to see these at Camp Perry in the early ,mid 70's when we were there........
as for the SDA384 L it shipped in Oct 1984 and there are NO foreign proof marks of any sort, just the military 'packaging' and these are seen, used in India and otehr spots like like,,,saw them on the news back when there as that attack in Mumbai............neat stuff
I do recall that the RCA had sold some years ago, we had a pair some years back, one of each model...but neither had all the "packaging" and foil wrap. Not sure if they (RCA) had removed it or what........

DUDE Don't touch my junk---gots to be a good one

Terry, no Sir, not familiar, though the modified dovetail kind of implies some sort of auto, but the 1911 and the most we used were 'short' versions of that just like on the Ruger MK I US guns, but a narrow dovetail...do you have a side view of that set-up???

Now about this "Dude, don't touch my junk........."

This terminology is not used around hilltopper country............. 8)

Dan,
heres a link to the gun. Looks to me like the sight is mounted on a dovetailed plate of some kind that over hangs the front of top strap, the rounded base? I'm about as clear as mud I know,, :D

yep, they went through a bit of extra to mount all of this, just used the sights from some version of a semi auto sights front and rear.....that small ;angled slot up front (top) of the rear sight is odd,and I do not recall what this was for or from......

That mark 1 pictured above will out shoot my gov model with a scope on it.
It is definitely the way they all should of been built and those sights are outstanding even for old eyes.
