I was the guest speaker at our Senior Saints luncheon today. I made it through without putting my foot in my mouth, stumbling or mumbling. And folks said I made a good devotion, but they would have anyway. That's the kind of folks they are.

And didn't put Jonah in the Ark nor Noah in the whale. In fact, never mentioned either one of those men.

We all knew you'd do good, Bob. We're proud of you. ;)

My new Church has a similar luncheon called Senior Moments, first Tuesday of every month (except now it's on winter hiatus until April). I've been going since August and have made some WONDERFUL friends there. Have had some excellent food, too. At 69, I'm about the kid of the group. ;)

Good to hear from you, Bob. From your posts on here, I would guess your talk was thought provoking and devotional. The one thing I learned about public speaking is that the folks in the audience are often glad it is you speaking and not them. :)

I got over my fear of public speaking about 39 years ago in AA. I learned that if you can tell the most disgusting, nasty secrets about all the stupid things you did while drinking to a room full of strangers, and have them become your dearest friends as a consequence, well, there's really nothing to be afraid of. ;) (y)
