Where can I get the replacement medallions that go in hand gun grips? I have 1911 Colt grip panels and I want to replace the Colt medallions with something else.

Do as I did years ago, go to a coin shop and find 2 dimes made in 1911 and mount/epoxy them in, you'd need to enlarge the holes slightly................I'm trying out my first post here and showing my age.

My Grand daughter came up with a good idea. She said "pawpaw...why don't you just sand the horse off and paint them black". So that's what I did today. Problem solved.

Welcome to the forum, Ballplayer !

Dime's work great, as do 1/2" diameter (round) vintage men's cufflinks (for French cuffed dress shirts) - which I look for in the jewelry booth/section @ flea markets & consignment stores.

I flush-inlayed a vintage Indian Head Penny into the bottom of the forend of my tang-safety Model 77R, that's chambered in .250 Savage, the same way I do on handgun grip panels.

I like that idea too. Maybe some sterling crosses.

I bought some medallions from Tombstone Grips and installed them on a pair of simulated ivory 1911 grips. They were real nice to deal with and shipped fast.
