Two questions. First, what's the best thing to preserve rubber grips from drying out and hardening? I have those on my Security Sixes and they fit my hand perfectly. They are the ones with the Ruger emblem. My second question is what type of wood treatment would darken my stock Redhawk and Security Six wood grips, without having to refinishing them. Thanks in advance.

For your rubber grips go to the autoparts place and buy a product called Mothers Back to Black. It is actually for the rubber parts on automobiles and motorcycles but works great on grips. To darken wooden stocks try boiled linseed oil and a lot of hand contact.

I've had good luck with: Armorall...made specifically for rubber and vinyl products. Regards, Rodfac
