You talking about the GP100 or the SP101? Both are available in 3" and other lengths, configurations, etc.

Nope..
I'm talking about the 3" (or so) barrel fixed sight, 6 shot, model "GP" they show on Rugers website..
I'm just wondering if their were any versions out there besides that one....

As I understand it, the 3" GPs came in either stainless or blued, either 38 Special or 357 Magnum and a few with adjustable sites. Oh yeah, the Wiley Clapp editions are 3" also, I believe.

Reuben, this gun is occaisionally offered in non catalogued variants. Most here have surmised they are police or military contract overruns. It seems that for the past few years one particular distributor has been their outlet for them--Davidsons. Last spring I picked up a 4" blued, fixed sights, full lug, 38 only from them. Usually, not always, they are offered at significant discounts to the catalogued items. Recently at 3" stainless was offered with adjustible sights in 38 only.

I see them listed in the catalog, and it looks like they are a production item...
I guess the lipsey's purchases convinced them to keep them??
I have a friend who has one.. until he mentioned it, I'd never heard of them either... nice lookin gun...

In times past there have been 3" adjustable sighted full lug barrels offered in .38 Special and .357. Originally, Ruger had a fixed sight version that had a half lug barrel but they are no longer offered. I do not know if they ever offered it in a blue version. Off course there are the 3" Wiley Clapps that come in blue or stainless.
